I am Tricia Magalotti. I am currently a postdoctoral fellow at Stockholm University with the Knowledge Resistance research program (funded by Riksbankens Jubileumsfond) led by Åsa Wikforss. I am investigating questions concerning the psychological and epistemic role of emotions in the phenomenon of knowledge resistance. My areas of specialization are in epistemology and philosophy of mind with a special focus in the philosophy of emotion.
Previously, I have held postdocs at Rice University (Houston, USA) and the University of Pavia (Pavia, Italy).
I received my PhD from Institut Jean Nicod at the École Normale Supérieure in Paris, France (December 2019). My PhD was funded by the Marie Skłodowska-Curie European Training Network DIAPHORA. My PhD dissertation is titled “The Epistemic Justification of Emotions.”
Before my doctoral studies, I received a BS in Philosophy from Northern Michigan University and an MA in Philosophy from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
